A couple of Fridays ago, a group of fine chefs from 7:08 visited our local Ronald McDonald House to prepare a meal for the families who were staying there while their children were hospitalized. Two of us made a run to the grocery store for ingredients before we all met up at RMH and got cooking. The main dish was chicken pot pie, followed by apple crisp and ice cream for dessert. We divvied up tasks with some people slicing apples (A LOT of apples) and others constructing the pot pies. Everything came out smelling delicious, and we had a great time exercising our culinary muscles for a very worthy cause. It was so gratifying to be able to provide a home-cooked meal for families facing difficult times with their children. Big thanks to everybody who participated! If you didn’t get in on this event, we hope to plan another meal later in the semester, so you still have a chance to take part in this fun and fulfilling work!
